Single Channel PLC Protocol Analyzer |
Peryton-PLC is a full-featured, single-channel
network
and protocol
analysis tool for Power Line Communications
protocols.
Using the Peryton-PLC, the user gets a quick and complete
picture of the communication over local power line and
activity of his
network or networks. The user can
view the
network
structure and members, easily identify erroneous
or
problematic messages, inspect message contents down
to the
bit
level, and easily share scenarios of interest with
colleagues,
vendors,
or customers. |
| Data analysis is made simple with the following tools: |
|
|
Time View Window |
The Time View window provides a unique
two dimensional view of transmitted messages
in the network.
This is a time-line view that provides
This is a time-line view that provides
easy understanding of transactions and other time related
processes. In a beacon network this view shows message
transmission times relative to the beacon gridline verifying
correct message timing. Messages can be sorted along the
vertical axis by device ID or network (PAN) ID. |
| |
|
|
|
Message View Window |
| The Message View window allows the user to dive into message fields down to the bit level. Fields content is shown
numerically and textually, with text and hints showing the field name, description, and meaning of the current value. Data is displayed in an intuitive graphical structure
allowing for the expansion or collapse of sub fields. These features greatly facilitate quick understanding,
eliminating the need to refer to off-line documentation. |

|
|
Network View Window |
| The Network View window
The Network View window
shows the network topology and elements. Each device is drawn according to its
type (e.g. coordinator, router, end device) with hints showing all known information
for the device. Links between devices and routes are clearly displayed. Devices
can be also drawn over a city map or floor plan. This view displays information on
devices received by the analyzer as well as other devices detected from indirect
messages sent by other devices, such as routes, coordinator assignments,
neighbor lists, tunneling, etc. |
|
| |
Live Data Capture Tool |
 |
|
|
The Data Capture Tool allows capturing messages
transmitted over the power line the analyzer is connected to. |
| |
Featured Toolbox |
 |
|
The Featured Toolbox provides even deeper analysis of captured data, including charts
summarizing properties of captured data, flexible data search tools, message compare utilities, and data export tools to allow further analysis with external tools such as Excel and Wireshark.
The full analyzer state including current view in each window, bookmarks, selected messages with their exact expanded fields, message zoom status, and more can be easily saved and
sent to other users for further inspection.
