IEEE 802.15.4 and ZigBee are the leading standards for smart energy networks, home automation, sensor networks, and many other exciting applications. The variety of players in this evolving arena ― combined with the assortment of features and options proposed by the standard ― can make the development, debugging, and rollout of 802.15.4/ZigBee solutions under demanding time-to-market constraints a big challenge.

Overcoming this challenge, Perytons protocol analyzers are an indispensable tool for 802.15.4/ZigBee development, integration, installation, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Perytons analyzers combine full coverage of the 2.4Ghz band with a rich and user-friendly analysis toolbox. Ours are the only analyzers on the market today that support multi-antenna operation.

Multi networks analysis

Time View Clip (46 sec)
802.15.4 PHY defines 16 possible communication channels in the 2.4Ghz ISM band. Perytons analyzers capture multiple channels simultaneously, enabling the analysis of dynamic processes such as “active scan” multiple networks operating in the same environment, or rogue devices which transmit on the wrong channel.[read more …]

Reliability

The Perytons analyzers are unique in the use of antenna diversity techniques, providing superior reliability through reducing the number packets lost due to RF indoor multi-path propagation conditions, and reducing interference from up to 15% to less than 0.1%. [read more …]

Big picture perspective

Network View clip (37sec)

The Network View window shows network topology, devices, their relations and the information known for each device. A unique Time View provides a two-dimensional message chart over time for an intuitive overview of processes and transactions taking place across the network. The vertical axis displays messages by channel, device ID, or PAN ID, making it much easier and faster to recognize and understand processes and transactions.[read more …]

For Network Layer analysis, Perytons offers an easy-to-understand network view displaying different devices, their type, the relations between them, and mesh communication routes. This view displays information on devices received directly by the analyzer as well as other devices detected through decoding their messages (such as routes, neighbor lists, or coordinator messages).

Ease of use

Message View Clip (44 sec)
Rich graphical interface requiring minimal text input provides an intuitive user experience with minimal training and a short learning curve. Perytons analyzers display the “meaning behind the bits” with informative screen tips explaining the field and its current value as defined by the IEEE 802.15.4 standard.

Ease of sharing

The Perytons analyzers allow you to save full analyzer states as a workspace file to share configurations and scenarios of interest colleagues, vendors, or the back office.

Sophistication

Tools Clip (39 sec)
A sophisticated, feature-rich toolbox helps identify and analyze problematic scenarios, using charts that summarize properties of captured data, flexible data export tools, and various detailed search tools for identifying messages by the value or appearance of a field or hierarchy of fields. Messages can also be compared with one another for detailed analysis or sorted by a variety of indexes.

Add your own protocol

SDK Clip (50 sec)

Perytons analyzers allow you to add your own application or protocol running over the 802.15.4 PHY and MAC layers, or on top of ZigBee NWL/APS layers, enhancing productivity and gaining a valuable marketing and support tool, completely customized for your unique needs. r/single channel products all the way up to analyzers supporting full coverage of the 2.4Ghz band. All Perytons products share the same architecture, assuring compatibility and easy upgrades as your business needs grow.
