IEEE 802.15.4, multi-channel, time-frequency wireless protocol analyzer

Tel-Aviv, Israel, April 23, 2007

Perytons introduced today the PerytonsPro™, A wireless protocol analyzer platform aimed for customers with proprietary protocols or with protocols in early standardization stages. The analyzer is especially suitable for point-to-multipoint and multipoint-to-multipoint protocols. Depending on the customer RF front-end, the analyzer is capable of recording and displaying multiple channels / frequencies simultaneously in a two dimensional time-Frequency display.

The PerytonsPro™ analyzer provides the capability to analyze and track multiple network sessions that coincide in time. Results are presented on a user-friendly two-dimensional Time-Frequency view. The analyzer is capable of sorting sessions by frequency, channel, station ID, or request-reply association. In addition to the Time-Frequency view, extensive message analysis toolbox provides message properties display showing field values description and meaning.

The PerytonsPro™ is based on a flexible protocol processing engine and enhanced GUI. The adjustments to the customer protocol are written in an internal, simple to use, language. The customer may choose to develop his own protocol specific libraries, or use Perytons customization services and get an operational analyzer matching his protocol requirements.

Yaron Soffer, Perytons Co-founder and CEO said: "Usually developers of proprietary wireless chipsets and systems don’t dedicate enough time to develop analysis and debugging tools. These companies find they miss these essential tools in the critical stage of integration and testing. The PerytonsPro™ platform and customization offering allow our partners to focus on developing their product not having to deal with the burden and complexity of building their own analysis tools. Perytons is proving them professional analysis tool to shorten their development, integration and field testing time".

IEEE® 802.15.4, multi-channel, time-frequency wireless protocol analyzer

Tel-Aviv, Israel, September 13, 2007

Perytons introduced today the industry’s first multi-channel, time–frequency protocol analyzer for the IEEE® 802.15.4 wireless protocol. The Perytons15.4™analyzer provides a complete analysis toolbox for the 802.15.4™ PHY and MAC layers.

The Perytons15.4™ analyzer provides the capability to analyze and track multiple network sessions that coincide in time. Results are presented on a user-friendly two-dimensional Time-Frequency view. The analyzer is capable of sorting sessions by frequency, PAN ID, or request-reply association. In addition to the Time-Frequency view, extensive message analysis toolbox provides message properties display showing field values description and meaning.

Using the Perytons15.4™ enables developers to significantly shorten development and integration time and is extremely beneficial to insure interoperability with other companies and compliance with standard. The analyzer is an essential tool for on site debugging where various devices are operating in the same unlicensed band. It can be easily installed on a field technician laptop accessorized with a small USB dongle.

Yaron Soffer, Perytons Co-founder and CEO said: "We have been approached many times in the last year by customers asking for 802.15.4 protocol analyzer. Realizing the lack of low layer analyzers we adopted our customizable PerytonsPro™ protocol analyzer engine, to support IEEE® 802.15.4. The analyzer combines rich feature set with intuitive GUI and open development environment. We are working with our partners to make the Perytons15.4™ the de facto standard for point-to-multipoint and multipoint-to-multipoint networks analysis"

Perytons announced the First IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee protocol analyzer with antenna diversity, based on Integration Associates USB dongles

Mountain View, CA and Tel-Aviv, Israel – April 28, 2008

Perytons announced today an enhanced version of it’s multi-antenna multi-channel 802.15.4/ZigBee analyzer based on Integration Associates EZLink 802.15.4 USB dongles.

The Perytons analyzer provides the capability to analyze and track multiple network sessions that coincide in time in a user friendly manner. It enables developers to significantly shorten development and integration time and an essential tool for on site debugging where various devices are operating in the same unlicensed band.

The multi-channel analyzer provides a complete, ready-to-use solution for analyzing complex system in a simple and reliable manner. Using multiple Integration USB dongles as RF/PHY front-end, Perytons introduce the first analyzer for 802.15.4/ZigBee that utilizes antenna diversity for improved sensitivity and fidelity. Antenna diversity may reduce outdoor packet loss by order of magnitude, and up to two orders of magnitude in an indoor environment.

"We are excited to provide our customers feature rich, user friendly analysis tool with very high reliability needed for analyzing sophisticated wireless networks.”, said Yaron Soffer, Perytons Founder and CEO. "Combining Integration Associates 802.15.4/ZigBee dongle remarkable performance with the Perytons diversity enabled platform makes the analysis process of sophisticated networks more simple and professional”.

"Integration is proud to partner with Perytons to meet the market need for real professional multi channel analyzer with no complex setups costs" said Phil Beecher, Integration’s Engineering Manager.

Perytons announced today the general availability of Perytons Scripting Solutions for IEEE 802.15.4 and ZigBee protocols

Tel-Aviv, Israel – September 19, 2008

Perytons announced today the general availability of it’s Perytons ScriptingTool, an add-on to the 802.15.4/ZigBee Perytons Protocol Analyzer Suite.

The Perytons Scripting and Monitoring Tool provides the capability to automatically supervise and investigate the behavior of operational wireless networks. It automatically generates alarms notifying field engineers and support teams of specific performance degradation and scenarios meeting pre-defined criteria set by them.

With the Perytons monitoring integrated User Defined Scripts generator, support engineers can easily define the conditions that will generate events, event content and severity, and the action to be taken by the analyzer upon this event. It can, for example, generate periodic or specific e-mail to be sent to the person responsible. The tool can also build the relevant network behavior information into easy-to-read charts.

These features are critical when trying to fine tune an operational wireless network, and can save dozens of labor hours by the support team and costly trips to the site.

"Now that the 802.15.4/ZigBee marketplace is shifting from R&D labs to the field, the Peryton-Scripting Add-On provides an essential complementary layer for our existing Perytons Analyzers portfolio,” said Rubi Elbirt, Perytons Director of Business Development. "Starting from the R&D engineer through QA and test engineers, and moving to post sale personnel and integration companies, all can now use the same analysis and monitoring set of tools. The result is quicker time to market of professionally analyzed and carefully tuned networks, which are crucial requisites for their proper operation.”
