Perytons includes ZigBee SE 1.x Extensions for UK in its new released version
Tel-Aviv, Israel – January 23, 2012
Following the Smart Grid implementations planned this year in the United Kingdom, Perytons announced today the release of its new version V3.31, which includes support for the proposed draft of 802.15.4 ZigBee Smart Energy 1.2 with UK Extensions.
“Having the leading protocol analyzer for wireless narrow band networks is not just about rich features and options but also about developing tools to timely address market demands and requirements” said Rubi Elbirt – VP Business Development and International Sales at Perytons. “Our latest version release is another step in this direction”.
“In the very near future we plan to tackle analysis of protocols over Power Line Communications and eventually provide our customers with a solution that converges the need for analysis of both the ZigBee SE profiles and PLC protocols within a single platform engine. This is in line with the company policy to contribute to the efforts of green energy implementation”.
The new version includes additional enhancements that make implementations of new deployments such as those done for the UK market easier, smoother and quicker like:
1. Allow attaching user defined notes to messages and devices
2. Modifications and generation improvements (as part of the Traffic Generator Add-On) including support of message template
3. New modified easy-to-use tree-like search form
4. ZigBee profile updates according to recent standard evolution
The full release notes of the new version V3.31 can be found in the Perytons website – website.
“We are getting very enthusiastic feedbacks on the lately released Traffic Generator Add-On that allows our customers to easily generate their own modified messages (e.g. simulating new message types defined by new protocol enhancements) and transmit them over the air in order to test system behavior. With the new version release, the capability of working with message templates and choosing the
security key with which to encrypt them, increases possibilities of using the Traffic Generator in additional options and scenarios.”. – added Rubi.

Perytons announced today the Perytons Traffic Generator Add-On for Perytons IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee/6LoWPAN protocol analyzers
Tel-Aviv, Israel – September 14, 2011
Perytons announced today the Perytons Traffic Generator, an add-on Software module to its 802.15.4/ZigBee/6LoWPAN Perytons Protocol Analyzers product line.
With the new add on users can use the Perytons Analyzer to transmit over-the-air ‘live data’ while analyzing the system under test reaction.
The Perytons Analyzer models for SubGHz (Peryton-SG for analysis of a single channel and the new Peryton-SGMx for simultaneous capture of multiple channels) include the required UI that allows the user to choose between the different pages of the SubGHz band. These ‘Pages’ define the different modulation type, coding, spreading and symbol/bit rate.
The Perytons Traffic Generator tool enhances the Peryton Analyzer licenses by allowing to:
1. Easily edit and modify messages
2. Build new data files with the desired messages and scenarios
3. Generate traffic by transmitting messages based on pre-defined files (previously captured or manually
modified)
4. Simultaneously transmit test files and capture and analyze the system response, while allowing to easily
distinguishing between the messages’ source (transmitted messages and system-under-test reaction)
Editing and modifying messages is accomplished via a built-in interface included in the different Perytons Analyzer views (Message Graphical/Tabular, Message Tree View).
When entering into the message edit mode, changes can be integrated in the different message layers.
Altering a message can be done by choosing a value predefined in a drop-down list with content based on the protocol specs., by manually changing the selected value, or by changing hexadecimal data bytes within the data list.
Editing and modifying can be done also on encrypted messages (the Perytons Analyzer built-in encryption engine takes care of building the encrypted messages based on the new edited data).
The changed messages can be then easily saved into a data-capture format file and transmitted to the air while using the built-in transmission capabilities of the add-on tool.
The Perytons Traffic Generator tool includes libraries enabling editing messages from within the User Defined Scripts that can be crated when using the Perytons Monitoring Add-On.
“With the ‘Perytons Traffic Generator Add-On’ we provide our customers the possibility not only to passively analyze messages of their networks but also to alter messages, save them to files and ‘play them back’ over the air into the network environment” said Rubi Elbirt – VP Business Development and International Sales of Perytons Ltd. “This great tool adds a significant layer to the Perytons Analyzer current features and is aimed for engineers that would like to include in the R&D process ‘what-if’ scenarios and to get to the market with a more robust and stable product. It is also a very important tool for test houses looking for a flexible and easy way to include test scenarios in their certification processes”.
“Imagine a scenario where you capture your network data, alter, save and re-transmit it to the wireless environment while in parallel the air traffic is being recorded and marked differently so you can analyze the details. Along with the built-in features included in the Perytons Analyzer models, like different presentation options, advanced toolbox – including find, compare statistics graphs, etc. – , command line player options and more, the Traffic Generator Add-On dramatically complements the analysis environment” added Rubi.
Details about the new Traffic Generator Add-On can be found in the Perytons website.
